Environmental Education

I have divided my environmental programs into two sections: Outdoor Programs and Workshops.  Please note that many indoor elements can be brought outdoors, and many outdoor programs can be reconfigured indoors in case of stormy/snowy weather.

Did you know the ancient Rabbi’s planted their sense of awe, wonder and mystery inside Judaism’s holidays, blessings, prayers, texts, and mystical practices?  They felt a strong sacred relationship with the natural world and wanted to find ways for future generations to remember this.  They created a calendar connected to moon, sun, and the seasons; holidays that follow the growing season, blessings for rainbows, thunder, and the first flowers of spring; a prayer book overflowing with the Cosmos, and even a law that mandates simplicity!  Strong mandates for justice and community inform all of this.

I offer these outdoor programs and workshops as a way to share Judaism’s ancient environmental wisdom with your community.  These offerings can easily be combined to create teacher trainings and Shabbatons.  Individualized programs are also available.
